June 5, World Environment Day: Kids’ Books on Environmental Education

On World Environment Day, which is celebrated every year on 5 June, let us pledge to go green and teach our students to be more mindful towards the environment. Here’s a list of selected books on how to preserve and look after the Mother Nature which the educators can introduce to their students. This manual from CSE’s Environment Education Unit has a set of guidelines and tasks for students to assess the environmental performance of a school under the Green Schools Programme (GSP). The GSP Manual equips the school community to skillfully manage and optimize the utilization of available resources within the school’s premises and fosters environment literacy amongst the students.

A curated list of schools across India that have displayed remarkable intelligence and resourcefulness in their quest to make a positive impact on the environment. In doing so, they have also demonstrated the path beyond mere theories.
